Power is one of the basic infrastructures necessary for the Industries and socio economic

development in the State. Installed capacity of the State has increased from 315 MW in

1960-61 to 11711 MW in 2009-2010. Per capita consumption of power in the State of

Gujarat in 2008-09 was 1446 Units (as per CEA revised formula) which is almost double of all

India average.
